Elizabeth Catherine “Katie” Sprinkle Hamlett

Elizabeth Catherine “Katie” Sprinkle Hamlett, 64, of Iron Gate, died Thursday, March 7, 2024. She was the loving wife of Kenneth Arnold Hamlett.

Born in Charlotte County, November 12, 1959, she was a daughter of the late Bernice Hamlett Sprinkle and Francis Baird Sprinkle.  Katie was a member of Beale Memorial Presbyterian Church. She loved crafting, decorating and her favorite holiday was Christmas. Katies’ favorite place in the world was her beach house in Claremont. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Katie was blessed with a long life after being diagnosed with Cerebral AVM in 1980.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Savannah Hamlett Michael and husband, Charlie of Iron Gate; two sisters, Anne Carr of Crystal Hill and Patty Miller and husband, Jeffrey of Pamplin; one brother, Richard Sprinkle of Pamplin; two grandchildren, Abigail Michael and Claire Michael; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. 

She was preceded in death by four brothers, John Sprinkle, Phillip Sprinkle, Terry Sprinkle and Stephen Sprinkle.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Beale Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kim Jeffreys officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church.
