On Saturday, April 6, the Alleghany Track and Field Team traveled to Vinton to compete in the 2024 Terrier Team Challenge which was held in Vinton and hosted by William Byrd High School. During the event, the Cougars took home first place in several categories. To start, both relay teams took home first place wins, beating out 21 other schools for the title. Brady Prior clinched the first-place title in two events: the 200-meter dash and the 400-meter dash. In the 200-meter dash, Prior competed against 67 other student athletes while, in the 400-meter dash, he ran against 54. Kiera Lowman also took home a first-place title in the 1600-meter run challenge, beating out 32 competitors.
