Mountain View Elementary students celebrate solar eclipse

Sandy Moss’ first grade class at Mountain View Elementary School celebrated the 2024 solar eclipse on Monday by reading stories, watching a video, making an eclipse craft, and enjoying Moon Pies and Capri Suns. The snacks were provided to the entire school by the PTO. Special solar eyeglasses were provided to each AHPS student through funding from the Alleghany Foundation. Although the sky was mostly overcast during the eclipse, AHPS teachers used the solar event to teach students about science and the beauty of the world. (AHPS Photo)
