LOW MOOR- The Alleghany Cougars baseball team trailed just 3-2 heading into the top of the fifth inning in their game with the Patrick County Cougars on Tuesday, April 9.
However, a 4-run fifth for Patrick County extended their lead to 7-2 and the opponent Cougars held off a comeback attempt from Alleghany as the home team lost 7-4.
Alleghany was plagued by four errors on the evening.
Anthony Webb (2-3, RBI) and Eli Weese (2-4, run, RBI) led Alleghany with two hits each. Chris Harden and Hunter DePriest also collected hits.
On the mound, Webb took the loss after throwing 4.2 innings. He only allowed 2 hits and 2 earned runs, and also had 3 strikeouts.
