ELLISTON – Playing on the road in their Pioneer District opener, Bath County fell 5-1 to Eastern Montgomery in a varsity boys soccer match in Elliston last Wednesday.
The Chargers scored their only goal during the first half. Andrew Turner continued to lead the area in scoring as the senior netted his ninth goal of the season.
The opportunities were there for BCHS as they had 11 shots on goal, including five for Turner.
Despite giving up five goals, senior Frankie DeBoe has a 14-save performance for Bath County.
Senior Ignacio Malpica led the Chargers with three steals, while senior Luke Hooker added two. Five BCHS players finished with one steal a piece.
Bath County (2-3) has now lost two in a row after starting the season 2-1 and had a two match win streak prior. The Chargers will be off until Thursday, April 11th when they host Narrows in a district boys soccer match.
