HOT SPRINGS – Experience, experience, experience.
The Bath County varsity boy’s soccer team has plenty of that for the 2024 season.
Coming off of a season last year where the Chargers finished 8-6-1 overall and earned a trip to the Class 1, Region C tournament, fifth-year head coach Rusty Bragg has a team primed for new heights this year.
Back is eight of the team’s 10 All-Pioneer District soccer players. Missing from the list are Kamoy Stone and Cole Simpson, who graduated in 2023.
Along with their eight all-district returners, BCHS has a team of 14 players that includes 10 with varsity soccer experience, including six seniors.
BCHS will look to improve on last season’s team that was dominant during the district regular season in which they posted a 6-1-1 mark. The team would reach the district tournament final where they lost to Eastern Montgomery 5-1. Giles would then sneak past them in the regionals with a 3-1 victory.
The team will play 13 total games that includes seven non-district and six district.
The season opens up on Monday, March 11th with a road trip to Stuarts Draft.
