Recently, an article titled, “A Lasting Tribute: Carter Wickline Recognized with Bench and Tree Dedication,” was published both online and in print. In both, one sentence of the article reads, “’Any senior can apply for the [Carter Wickline Memorial Scholarship] fund as long as their GPA is 3.0 or higher,’ Cary Linkswiler said.” The Virginian Review has since learned that there is no GPA requirement at this time though it is, as the article states, open to any senior who wishes to apply.
As the writer, I apologize to the readers and the Wickline family for the error.
Thank you to the public for your continued support and patronage to the Virginian Review newspaper.
