John (Jack) J. Pendleton
John (Jack) J. Pendleton, 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on July 31, 2023. He was born on January 13, 1932, in Clifton Forge, Virginia.
Jack was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Nancy; great-grandson, Jackson G. Wickiser; parents, Grant and Lena Pendleton; brother, Richard Pendleton; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Edward Thombs; brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Elizabeth Pendleton; and nephew, Shawn Leffler.
Jack was survived by his children; Steve Pendleton (Brenda Rushka); Sue Pendleton (David Yunker); Tom Pendleton (Tory Harper); grandchildren; Collette Reneé Pendleton; Stephenie (Hristo) Krusarovski; Chris Wickiser (Jessica Wesaw); great-grandchildren; Gabriel Wickiser, Anastacia Wickiser, Hristo and Jovan Krusarovski, and Kipton Fyffe; nieces; Bonnie (Wayne) Van Houten, Nora Thombs, Barbara Ann (Larry) Owens, Kathy (Steve) Cornelius, Liz (Bruce) Adamczak, Tonya (Russ) Ralston; nephews: Harry Pendleton Jr., Raymond (Lynn) Pendleton, Kent Baker (Erica Stange), and Keith, Dennis, and Rick Chapman; brother-in-law: Bill Chapman; sisters-in-law: Dotty Buckley and Sande Chapman; as well many great nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Family and friends can call from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023, and from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, August 4, 2023. A service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Pataskala United Methodist Church 458 S. Main St. Pataskala, OH 43062, with Pastor Carl Redding officiating. Burial is to follow at Pataskala Cemetery.
Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and proudly served his country during the Korean War. He worked for DSCC, and prior to that C&O Railroad which led Jack to becoming a train enthusiast. Jack enjoyed watching baseball and was a lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds.
Jack was a lifelong member and supporter of Pataskala United Methodist Church and Stonybrook United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either church. The family would like to give a special thanks to the friends, therapists and nursing staff, at Columbus Colony for Elderly Care, especially Tiffany, Bobby, Angie, Dana, Becca, and Alice, as well as the wonderful people at National Church Residence Hospice.
