Highlander Track Classic Results

SALEM – Bath County competed on the track for the first time this spring this past Wednesday at the Highlander Track Classic in Salem.
 
A total of eight schools took part in the track classic along with Bath County as well as Auburn, Roanoke Catholic, Glenvar, Cave Spring, Carroll County, Eastern Mennonite, and Eastern Montgomery all to part in the event.
 
The event itself was dominated by Cave Spring High School who won the Highlander Track Classic title in both the boys and girls. The Knights scored 119 points for the girls’ team total and 171 for the boys.
 
Cave Spring’s biggest competition was Auburn who were the runners up in both the boys and girls. 
 
For Bath County, the girls scored two points, coming from Natalie White. White placed 6th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:48.43 and also finished 6th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 6:03.44.
 
Meanwhile Abbey Phillips had two 12th place results. Phillips finished with a time of 20.14 in the 100-meter hurdles and a time of 1:11.28 in the 300-meter hurdles.
 
On the boys’ side of the track, Matt Harold placed 25th overall in the boys 800-meter run.
 
Bath County is back on the track on Wednesday at Staunton High School.
