Lynwood Fischer
Raymond Lynwood Fischer, age 75, of 714 North Rockbridge Avenue, Covington, Virginia died Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Lexington.
He was born on June 4, 1948, in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Edward Jacob Fischer, Sr. and Marie Hinkel Fischer. He was a retired Production Lineman for H. O. Canfield in Iron Gate and was a part-time automobile mechanic for Clemons Tire and Auto in Covington. He was a member of the Clifton Forge Moose Lodge and volunteered his time with both the Selma and Iron Gate Fire Departments. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, showing his automobiles, and riding motorcycles and he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Jacob Fischer, Jr., and a granddaughter, Regan Fischer.
He is survived by a daughter, Lisa Graham and husband Randy of Newport, PA; a son, Kirk Fischer and wife Ashley of Covington; a sister, Wanda Capano of Salem; a brother, William G. “Bill” Fischer of Botetourt County; five grandchildren, Mason McDowell-Graham, Grace Jensen, Raymond Fischer, Ashlyn Fischer, and Heaven Fischer; three great-grandchildren, Macey Cibuika, Maverick Jensen, and Ryder Graham; and a number of nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Scott Fischer.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Mausoleum Chapel of Alleghany Memorial Park in Low Moor with Evangelist Barry Daniel officiating. Entombment will immediately follow. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
