Lois Marie McAllister Fleming
Mrs. Lois Marie McAllister Fleming, age 74, of Covington, died Monday, January 22, 2024. at the Springs Nursing Home, Hot Springs. She was the wife of William Barker Fleming, Jr.
Mrs. Fleming was born July 9, 1949, in Virginia, the daughter of the late Walter McAllister and Minnie Rose McAllister. She had been employed as a stenographer for the former Dressler Motors before her retirement. Mrs. Fleming was a member of Hoke Chapel United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. In her spare time, Lois enjoyed baking for her family and friends.
Mrs. Fleming is survived by a son, William Barker Fleming, III of Covington; a daughter, Brenda Gail Crumb of Beckley, WV; seven grandchildren, Benjamin Crumb, Samantha Crumb, Katelynn Fleming, Hayley Fleming, Ariel Fleming, Jacob Fleming and Rayland Fleming; a great-grandson, Oliver; a great-granddaughter, Adaline; two brothers, James McAllister and Edgar McAllister; a sister, Sharon Hayslett and husband, Monty; and a brother-in-law, Sidney Kirby
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Fleming was preceded in death by a brother, Sterling McAllister and two sisters, Carolyn Kirby and Brenda McAllister.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 26, 2024, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Hollenbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Hoke Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends attending the service.
