Joan Peer

ROANOKE — Joan Lenora Sutler Peer, 84, of Roanoke, and formerly of Clifton Forge, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, at her residence.
She was born March 11, 1936, in Winchester, to the late James Lawrence Sutler and Sara Lue Rowland Sutler. 
She was a retired respiratory therapist and certified nursing assistant for Alleghany Regional Hospital for 36 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie Dean Peer Sr.; and a brother, James L. Sutler.
She is survived by a son, Ernie Dean Peer Jr. and wife Debbie of Roanoke; a sister-in-law, Cora Sutler of Kansas; a grandson, Sean Bethel and wife Meghan of Salem; two great-grandchildren, Caira and Austin Bethel; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In keeping with her wishes, her body will be cremated. 
There will be no services scheduled at this time.
