Albert Thomas Waldron, 80, departed this life on January 26, 2024. He was the sixth child born on March 31, 1943 to the late Edward Nathaniel Waldron and Beatrice (Brown) Waldron of Wrightsville, VA. His six siblings (Alphonso, Gilbert, Nathaniel, Berniece, Delano and Lewis) preceded him in death.
His remaining sibling,Yvonne (Waldron) Young, grieves his passing and resides in Trenton, NJ.
Thomas was a member of Wrightsville Baptist Church in his formative years. He graduated from Watson High School, Class of 1960. From June 21, 1960 until June 20, 1963, Thomas honorably served in the United States Army. During his military tour of duty, he received a Good Conduct Medal; the Parachutist Badge, Pistol Sharpshooting Badge and Expert Rifle Badge and First Class Gunner (81mm Mortar) commendations.
After serving in the Army, Thomas began a career as a Computer Analyst at Lockheed Martin Corporation. He also worked for the Yolo County Government in California, helping to design the County’s Child Support System.
Albert enjoyed golfing, football, and martial arts; he achieved the level of black belt in Karate. He was also a gifted artist and has a large collection of portraits, landscapes and abstract art.
In 2011, Thomas moved from Woodland, CA, back to Covington to help care for his brother, Delano, when his health began to deteriorate, until Delano’s death in 2017. He continued to live in the family home for the remainder of his life.
Albert was the proud father of three children: Nicole (Waldron) Lachepelle, of Myrtle Beach, SC, Ashley Aaron Waldron and Thomas Edward Waldron, of Woodland, CA. He also leaves to mourn his passing a host of other relatives and friends.
In compliance with his request, Albert has been cremated. Professional services have been entrusted to Arritt Funeral Home, in Covington. A memorial service is being planned for a later time.
