HOT SPRINGS – In May of 2019, that was the last time Bath County yielded a varsity softball team.
The Chargers lost a first-round Region C contest to Auburn. That would be the last time BCHS played a varsity softball game.
Five years later, Bath County varsity softball is back.
Bath County will be led by first-year head coach Charlie Padgett. Padgett will lead a group of 11 girls that consists of three total upperclassmen (1 senior and 2 juniors), as well as eight underclassmen (3 sophomores and 5 freshman).
The Chargers will play a 12-game schedule, starting with their season-opener on March 18th at Buffalo Gap. It will be part of a three-game non district schedule.
On March 27th, BCHS will begin their Pioneer District schedule (9 games) with a home game against Eastern Montgomery.
