BUENA VISTA – In what was the team’s first game in nearly two weeks, Bath County was shut down on the road as the team was no-hit in a 10-0 five-inning loss to Parry McCluer in Buena Vista.
Braedyn Houck pitched a phenomenal game for the Fighting Blues as he struck out 11 batters and gave up just two walks in his five-inning no-hitter.
The offense for Parry McCluer (5-2, 3-0 Pioneer) was backed by 12-hits, including a three-hit performance from Tanner Coleman. Coleman drove in two runs and scored a pair as well.
Along with Coleman leading the offense, Houck, Tyler Wade, Aaron Pruett, and Peyton Ramsey each had two hits apiece.
Issac Ingram took the loss on the mound for Bath County. Ingram allowed three earned runs, six hits, and two strikeouts in two innings of work. Ingram was the only Charger to reach base as he reached on both walks issued by Houck.
This was only Bath County’s third game of the season. The Chargers (1-2, 0-1 Pioneer) have been hit by several postponements. The loss to Parry McCluer was the team’s district opener.
