Three Chargers Named to All-Pioneer District Basketball Team

HOT SPRINGS – Bath County finished its boys’ basketball season with a 13-14 overall record and reached the Class 1, Region C tournament for the first time in five years.
 
The Chargers also had three of their players this past weekend be named to the All-Pioneer District teams. 
 
In total, there were 24 selections.
 
Among the BCHS players, senior Andrew Turner, who had led the Chargers in scoring with 14 points per game, was named to the all-district first team. During the district tournament, Turner averaged 15.3 points per game, including a 23-point performance in the team’s upset win over Highland in the first-round. 
 
Junior Issac Ingram was named to the all-district second team. Ingram averaged just over eight points per game during the district tournament, however for the season, Ingram was tied for second in scoring on the team with 10.6 a game.
 
The player Ingram was tied in scoring with, sophomore Luke Turner, was an all-district honorable mention. Turner had a solid performance during the district tournament where he averaged 11 points a game, including a 17-point performance in the third-place game in which the Chargers defeated Eastern Montgomery 63-57.
 
Parry McClure’s head coach Tyler Kerr was named the district coach of the year, while Kolier Pruett from Narrows was named the district player of the year.
 
Narrows and Parry McCluer had the most players to reach the all-district teams with six each.
