The Covington mill will begin an annual planned maintenance outage the morning of October 11. Work will be done in the Woodyard October 16-27; Unbleached Pulp Mill and Bleach Room from October 14-22; and Recovery from October 11-25. The paper machines will be down at various times throughout this outage for maintenance.
On Wednesday and Thursday, October 11 and 12, Recovery will begin an outage on No. 2 Recovery Boiler (2RU), No. 2 Lime Kiln, and the No. 4 Evaporator. There will be the possibility of high noise levels and odors at times from Wednesday, October 11, at 6 p.m. through Thursday, October 12, at 6 p.m. 1RU will run during this time.
On October 15-20, we will have a full blow break during which time we will take the Waste Heat Evaporator down. There will be the possibility of high noise levels periodically from approximately Sunday, October 15, at 7 p.m. until Friday,
October 20, at 7 a.m. when the system comes back online.
On Tuesday, October 24, 2RU will be started up and there is the possibility of high noise levels periodically from Tuesday, October 24, at noon to Wednesday, October 25, at 12:30 a.m.
We will work to minimize noise/odor to the community during this outage. While work is being performed, equipment will be shut down and brought back online at different intervals for maintenance. There is a possibility that steam pop-offs could occur as equipment is shut down and brought back online.

There will be a number of contractor employees working in the mill during the outage. At the peak of the outage, there will be approximately 450 contract employees working in the mill. Please be aware of extra traffic around the mill, the WestRock parking lots, and entrance/exit gates during the outage period, especially around 5 to 7 a.m. and 5 to 7 p.m.
