This past Saturday, the Alleghany Mountaineers wrestling team finished second at the Bison Invitational at Buffalo Gap High School.
The Mountaineers, who scored 137 points, fell just 30 points short of first place winner, Fort Defiance, who scored 167.
The Mountaineers grabbed two first place individual weight class victories, Ivan Dobbs in the 160-weight class and Lucas Rogers in the 170-weight class.
In the 138-weight class, Dontae Miller, finished second, while Ryan Shue, in the 220-weight class, also finished in second.
The Mountaineers record now stands at 12-5 on the season.
Last nights tri-match at E.C. Glass was canceled. The teams next wrestling match will take place this Saturday (weather permitting) at Heritage High School and will then host the Mountaineer Invitational on Monday at Alleghany High School.
