The Fincastle Baptist Church Highlands Campus Kids Club collected stuffed animals throughout the month of September for a service project called “September Stuffies.”
The stuffies were donated to the Alleghany County Sheriffs Office on Wednesday, Sept. 29, during the closing session of Kids Club.
Sheriff’s deputies Robbie Dudley and Michael Garcia received the stuffed animals to keep in their cars. The deputies will use the animals to comfort children that need them on their calls in the community.
The grade levels in Kids Club competed to see which one could bring in the most stuffies. The kindergarten and first graders won an ice cream party that will be held Wednesday, Oct. 6.
“Every stuffie has been prayed over and the church prays they will bless many children in the Alleghany Highlands,” said DeAnn Foster Stull, children’s coordinator for Fincastle Baptist Church’s Highlands Campus.
Kids Club meets at the Highlands Campus on Wednesdays at 6:15 p.m.
