The Covington Division Of Police Is Asking For Your Help

The Covington Police Department is asking the public for information pertaining to the origin of a house fire on South Ashland Avenue Thursday morning. The fire was reported to the city’s emergency disp[catch center at 12:20 a.m. The small structure was fully engulfed when first responders arrived at the scene. The home, which was vacant, was deemed a loss. An adjacent structure was also damaged by fire, as well as a resident’s vehicle. A police officer was able to safely evacuate the occupied home. The officer sustained minor injuries in the process. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Persons with information can call (Det. Bert Baker at (540) 965-6333. Messages can also be sent to the police department via Facebook. The structures damaged by the fire were located near the top of Town Hill.
