Please vote for the Virginian Review Alleghany and Bath County Diamond Players of the Week for the week of April 29-May 4. Two boys and two girls from the area’s 4 teams (Alleghany baseball, Alleghany softball, Bath Co. baseball, and Bath Co. softball) are nominated and combined together in one poll. We will take the top vote getters and announce the winners from each school on Monday nights (time may vary week-to-week). Again, there will be a winner from each school. Voting closes Monday, April 29, 2024 at 4:00 PM.

Technical issues pushed this poll to be posted later than normal. We apologize for that, but it’s now live and ready to go!

NOMINEES:

Anthony Webb- hit .444 with a double and a triple and 2 RBIs. Also threw a no-hitter against Radford with 10 strikeouts.

Christopher Harden- batted .555 with two doubles. Scored a run and drove in 3 more in a 2-1 week for the Cougars.

Laken Cantrell- Cantrell hit .500, scored 5 runs, and got 4 RBIs in a week the Lady Cougars won 2-of-3.

Kaylee Nicely- hit .444 with a HR, 7 runs scored, and 5 RBIs.

Trinity Forbes- had an inside the park homerun in a victory.

Kiana Williamson- also hit an inside the park homer for the Lady Chargers.

Nathan Hunt- 10 strikeouts on the mound.

Cooper Lowry- had three hits and scored a run for the Chargers baseball team.

Oops! Sorry about that, voting has closed.

But wait! There's another one coming up very soon!
