SHENANDOAH – The rain would not get in the way this time around.
After a few tries trying to get this varsity girls tennis match started, both Bath County and Page County were able to play out and finish their two scheduled matches.
The Chargers and Panthers had their first original match get postponed. Then later when the makeup date was scheduled in Hot Springs, the two teams got through a few games before the rain came down and the match had to be suspended.
So, the two schools finally played a doubleheader on Thursday, April 25th where BCHS shut out the Panthers in both contests.
Sadie Alphin, Abbey Phillips, Brooke Hess, Alyssa DePoppe, and Sophie Ailstock, each had two singles victories for Bath County. Also earning wins were Kelsey Eaton and Adriana Miller.
Meanwhile, in doubles, the teams of Alphin & Phillips and Hess & DePoppe, each had two doubles victories. Ailstock & Miller and Eaton & Chloe Fewell, each had one doubles win.
The wins were Bath County’s second and third on the season.
