Homer Edward Clark, Sr.
Homer Edward Clark, Sr., age 87, of 403 Tannery Road, Iron Gate, Virginia died Friday, April 26, 2024 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia.
Homer was born on April 14, 1937 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Admiral Cevera Clark and Gladys Nicely Clark. He was retired from Gala Industries, and also worked for a number of years for H. O. Canfield and Groggins Plastics. He served in the Virginia National Guard and loved working and talking to people.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Joyce Fisher Clark; four sisters, Hilda Ross, Helen Johnson, Alma Overstreet, and Peggy Pugh; and two brothers, Carnaidia Clark and Cleo Clark.
He is survived by his children, Karen Sue Clark Beger of Daleville and Homer Edward “Eddie” Clark, Jr. (Annette) of Fincastle; four grandsons, Mitchell Clark, Cort Clark, Tyler Beger, and Chandler Beger; a great grandson, Jordy Reese Clark; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Billy Price officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Mitchell Clark, Cort Clark, Tyler Beger, Chandler Beger, Frank Tyree, and Gary Johnson. The family will visit with friends on Thursday 11:30 AM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
