Robert London, known lovingly as Bob, passed peacefully on January 29, 2022. He was born on March 4, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan, but he called Clifton Forge home for nearly 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Doris London. He is survived by his three children, son Brendan London and wife Leslie London of Charlotte, NC, daughter Sarah Polasik and husband Brad Polasik of Wake Forest, NC, and daughter Meredith Thompson and husband Allen Thompson of Troutville, VA. He is survived by his 6 grandchildren, Amelia and Emma London, Cody and Abby Polasik, and Graham and Liam Thompson. He is survived by his dear friend, Maryanne Solan, his brother Jim London and wife Donna, sister Barbara Lane and husband John, and sister Marilyn Crowther and husband Dave. His family includes numerous nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.
Bob is remembered fondly for his kind heart, sense of humor, and intellect. His children remember him for his creativity and ability to make them laugh with witty punchlines. Bob knew something on just about everything but was humble in sharing his wisdom. He devoted over 30 years of service to Dabney S. Lancaster Community College in Clifton Forge.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 4, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Clifton Forge with burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge. The family encourages masks at these events.
