Joann Spinner Barber, 67, of 816 S. Alleghany Ave., died Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany in Low Moor.
Mrs. Barber was born on July 25, 1954, in Clifton Forge, Va., a daughter of the late John and Eloise Green Spinner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Shirley Spinner and a brother John Spinner Jr.
She was a housekeeper at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany.
She is survived by three daughters Seleste Barber of Fayetteville, N.C., Ja’Chell Vipperman and Carolee Vipperman both of Covington, a son Mason Barber Jr. sons-in-law William Grasty of Fayetteville, N.C. and Mekhi Reeves of Covington, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, five sisters Loraine Spinner of Covington, Dorrine Robertson of Danville, Joyce Gibson and husband Charles of Columbus, Ohio, Georgia Fowler of Charlottesville, and Eloise Wiley and husband Steven of Fayetteville, N.C., two brothers Thomas Spinner of Columbus, Ohio, and Melvin Spinner of Germany and a number of nieces and nephews.
In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated.
A private service will be held at a later date.
The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
