The proprietor, Mr. Robert Graham, has been in Covington for nine years.

Today’s Headline: To Start Work On Route To Clifton Forge.
Two last sections of Route 64 between Clifton Forge and the Island Ford Bridge may be advertised for construction within 90 days, according to a letter signed by Virginia Highway Commissioner H.H. Harris, dated Thursday.
Specialist Fourth Class James R. Harold, son of Mrs. Geraldine Rose of England Heights, Covington, who has been stationed with the U.S. Army in Amberg, Germany, is spending 45 days leave at his home.

Today’s Headline: Attempted Armed Robbery At Gun Shop.
The Covington Police Department is investigating an attempted armed robbery which occurred at Mundy’s Gun Shop, 305 Hazel Street, at approximately 1:46 a.m. Friday.
The incident was reported by Mike Mundy, owner of the gun shop.
