At a recent meeting of the Sharon Ruritan Club, members were made aware of the vision and the mission of the CLAYTON HEATH NICELY FOOD PANTRY which honors the commitment and work of the late Heath Nicely. Heath was so moved by the needs of families in our county that he volunteered many hours to help this project become a reality for the many families who do not qualify for other federal programs or find that other programs do not meet the needs of their family.
Heath’s mother, Billee Nicely, and Jennifer McCallister of the Social Services Department in Covington attended a recent meeting of the Sharon Ruritan Club to explain the mission of the Clayton Heath Nicely Food Pantry, which honors Heath’s invaluable work. He envisioned a pantry open to anyone in need not only for food, but also for personal items such as baby diapers, formula, personal feminine and hygiene items. The pantry is presently located at the Social Services Office in Rosedale, Covington.
Anyone desiring to help with this project may bring items to the Social Services Office in Rosedale, Covington. A number of Ruritans brought items to the meeting for the Pantry, and during the meeting all voted to make a monetary donation from the Club.
