Please note that we will consider all requests received by April 26. The appropriate paperwork has been mailed to current out-of-zone students earlier this month and this posting is simply a reminder. Notifications of acceptance may not begin until after school ends and they may continue throughout the summer. Individuals may also submit forms after April 26, but requests received earlier will be prioritized. We will be as efficient as possible. If your request is related to childcare, please complete the companion childcare form as well, which is downloadable here: https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:VA6C2:0f8ab32f-ed85-4869-86a6-783b08f2fe7a

It remains our intention to be as flexible with families as practical while using division resources wisely to meet the needs of students. We understand that many students have unique situations, including students who live between two homes, and our process affords families the opportunity to share important details about their living situation, child care, employment, or other factors that may affect their desire to attend a specific school so that these factors may be considered. It is important that families place the information they would like considered on the appropriate zone transfer form. As also indicated above, please complete the childcare form if your request is child-care related.
AHPS attendance zone transfer processes are informed by AHPS Policy JC. An update to this policy was proposed at the April 17, 2023, regular school board meeting. The policy has not changed during the 2023-2024 school year. All decisions about out-of-zone and out-of-district enrollment include consideration of student attendance as appropriate to the student.
Individuals with questions about specific addresses and elementary school attendance zones should contact Laura or Christina at 540.965.1808.
