Elaine Sandra Shafley
Ms. Elaine Sandra Shafley, age 79, of Clifton Forge, died Monday, November 13, 2023, at her residence.
Ms Shafley was born in Victoria, TX, the only child of the late George Thomas Shafley (Lt. Col. USAF Ret.) and Geraldine Fleming Shafley. A resident of this community since 1971, she was active in several civic and community organizations during her many years as a Highlands resident. Her great joys in life were her companion, her home and family as well as her extensive travels.
Ms. Shafley is survived by her beloved companion, William A. Parks, Jr. and by her children, son, David A. Marcontell, daughter-in-law, Laura, granddaughter, Alexa and grandson, Daniel; son, Michael J. Marcontell, daughter-in-law, Virginia, grandson, Braden; daughter, Leah Marcontell Reasor, son-in-law, Matthew, grandsons, Sean, Jacob and Marcus and granddaughter, Mirielle; son, Andrew Marcontell, daughter-in-law, Jennifer, grandson, Thomas, Theodore and Thayer.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Shafley was preceded in death by an infant son, Jacob John Marcontell.
In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, November 19, 2023, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. W. Pembroke Hall. A private committal of ashes will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
