Mary Ellen Elmore
Mary Ellen Elmore, age 59, of 5107 Longdale Furnace Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at her residence.
Mary Ellen was born October 13, 1963, in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Robert Monroe Elmore, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Humphries Elmore, and was a graduate of Alleghany County High School. She was a homemaker throughout her life and loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Elmore, Jr. and Joe Elmore, and a sister, Rebecca Sue Elmore.
She is survived by three sisters, Connie Gunter and husband Lee of Covington, Kathy Lynn Johnson and husband Melvin of Moneta, and Melissa Jean Broughman and husband Bobby of Low Moor; a brother, Wesley Edward Elmore and wife Kristin of Low Moor; her fiancé, Nicholas Dean Simpkins of Clifton Forge; a step-son, Nathan Troy Simpkins of Radford; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Barbie Hinkle.
In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in Midway Christian Church, Selma-Low Moor Road, with Reverend Michael Fisher officiating. The family will receive friends anytime at the home of Melissa and Bobby Broughman, 9802 Rich Patch Road, Covington, VA.
