The following is a note from Steve to his family and friends:
Good morning congregation. The old rock’n’roll preacher man from the hills of Tennessee is coming at you live and loud from Heaven. The party never stops, and the crops never stop growing. I don’t get all teared up when I feel happy now. I smile ear to ear. You know why? I had so many great years kicking ass on earth it was about time for me to pay the piper. Thankfully Christ paid my cost on the cross. Now here I get to be in eternity with all my rowdy friends. Too bad too sad for you. I got my woman back now. You should see the motorcycle that we cruise on up here. The sights are unreal. Come to find out Jesus likes Rock’n’Roll just as much as I do. You should hear the speakers blasting from the heavens. They even play Rocky Top. At least that’s what Rev. Reggie White told me. This is the only place that can make those Tennessee mountains look average. Mary is impressed with my heavenly body. My shoulders are broad, and my mustache is epic, and my hair, You should see it it’s back fuller than ever.
To my little girl and pride and joy boy. I must tell you about your momma. She is looking super-hot. She found out that Heaven Gold Blonde is her best look for those Angel highlights. If you are sad and think you might get to missing me, please don’t. It was my time to go. To go back to the arms of those I love and those that loved me. Now, don’t forget I left a little sprinkle of legacy down there. Three little girls that are going to break barriers, break hearts, and maybe break a few jaws. They are a whole lot like me and your momma. We never really took any shit, and I don’t expect they will either. I love you and I’m sorry me and your momma had to go so soon. Come to find out the Lord has a lot in store for you. We gave you all the lessons you need from us. Life is going to keep on teaching you. Keep on learning and thriving. We did too much to prepare you to be in a surviving mode. We are proud of you and know you won’t quit. When the going gets tough just buck up and carry onward. Humble yourself to God and pull out some of those lessons we taught you. We heard you were planning to take us on a final little tour of heaven on earth. Make sure you sprinkle us in those rivers and on those mountains. You know where to go. Make sure you save enough to roll us up. Don’t bogart that joint my friends make sure everybody has some fun.
Now you know I don’t like to watch you walk away or drive away. So, I’m going to head back to the river of life to quench my thirst. We all drink from the same fountain up here kids. You have honored us on earth so your days will be long. Enjoy the ride!
