On Tuesday, April 18, the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office received a call in the early morning hours regarding several vehicles being stolen from the Rich Patch/Potts Creek area of Alleghany County.
The suspect, Linwood Smith, age 36, was arrested on Potts Creek by Deputy V.L. Bowman on two counts of grand larceny: auto theft.
Bowman was assisted by Lt. R.A. Fridley and Sgt. C.D. Phillips.
Smith was taken to Alleghany Regional Jail where he was held by the magistrate on a $1,500 bond. As of this press release, Smith is still incarcerated at Alleghany Regional Jail.
