Judy Barnhart Parr
Judy Barnhart Parr of Springfield, Virginia, died Tuesday, March 28, 2023, in Durham, North Carolina. She was a member of Messiah United Methodist Church in Springfield, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Noel and Loretta Barnhart. She is survived by her loving children, Arthur Parr, of Catlett, Virginia, and Lisa Parr Devine, and her husband, Donald, of Durham, North Carolina. She is also survived by her grandson, Colin Devine, and his wife, Becca, of Durham, North Carolina, her great-granddaughters, Vera and Hannah, her granddaughter, Shelby Devine Ferguson, and her husband, Patrick, of Alexandria, Virginia.
Judy had a heart for helping others and was beloved by her many friends for her kindness and generosity of spirit. She earned a masters degree in counseling in 1990 and served as an employment counselor. She later volunteered extensively, particularly at Rising Hope Outreach Ministry in Northern Virginia.
Judy grew up in Covington, and it was always close to her heart.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 3, 2023, at Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Eric Early officiating.
The family will receive friends Monday morning from 11:30 a.m. until time of service.
