LEWISBURG, W.Va. – Greenbrier Valley Theatre (GVT) begins its summer season with a production which pays tribute to one of country music’s greatest artists, Johnny Cash.
“Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash,” was created by Richard Maltby Jr., and conceived by William Meade, with orchestrations by Steven Bishop and Jeff Lisenby.
The includes a professional cast that will feature two dozen of Cash’s greatest hits. Performances at GVT open Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and run through June 18.
Cash hits featured in the show include the popular “I Walk the Line,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” and “A Boy Named Sue,” as well as songs with titles like “Flushed From the Bathroom of Your Heart.”
Other performance dates include May 27, 28, June 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18, as well as a “Pay What You Can” Performance Wednesday.
