South Covington United Methodist Church hosted a 35-member Community Appalachian Service Project Team from Denville, N.J. July 10-11.
The group from New Jersey stayed at the Covington church and toured points of interest in the Highlands, including Humpback Bridge.
The team also visited Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Alleghany County, where they shared testimonies about being involved in missions.
After leaving Covington, they spent a week in Kentucky.
The Rev. Faith Weedling, who serves as pastor of South Covington and Mount Pleasant United Methodist churches, became an honorary member of the ASP team.
