CLIFTON FORGE - The Twilight Garden Club met Aug. 23 at Heirlooms Café with 15 members present.
After the meal, President Juanita Savage called the meeting to order with the reading of the club prayer. The June minutes were approved as read. Treasurer Frances Hoffman presented her report.
Martha Bryan reported that she is putting together a report on the work the club has done at the C&O Heritage Center to submit to the district office.
She asked for input from other members. She also brought a birdhouse in the shape of a red caboose to be erected at the Heritage Center Garden.
Ann Koethcke stated that she will present rules and tips on judging exhibits at upcoming meetings. She will also discuss various arrangements and rules for exhibiting.
Reporting on Hospitality, Barbara James said she has sent cards to various members.
Speaking on Horticulture, Savage said now is the time to dead-head perennials such as yarrow and butterfly weed.
Ways and Means Committee reported that items are being brought in for the fall basket.
The basket will be filled with fall-related items. Raffle tickets will be sold.
