RICHMOND — Dominion Energy Virginia is expanding assistance to Virginia customers facing financial hardship from COVID-19, offering a payment plan and new direct assistance, while asking state regulators for an additional four-month extension of its “no disconnection” policy. Virginia’s disconnection policy is due to expire June 15.
Dominion is offering payment extensions. Starting June 15, the company will expand its long-term payment plans and offer customers up to 12 months to pay past due amounts, with no minimum down payment required.
Dominion is also increasing benefits through EnergyShare, its year-round assistance program for individuals and families facing financial hardship.
Effective June 1, the maximum benefit was increased to $1,200 for this year, up from $900.

Dominion is reminding its customers it will never call and demand immediate payment or ask for payment on a pre-paid debit or gift card
The company is aware that scammers posing as Dominion representatives have become more common during COVID-19.
