HOT SPRINGS – The weather had not been on the reigning Pioneer District Tennis champions side to start this spring sports season.
After over a month of rain outs and game suspensions, Bath County had finally gotten out on the tennis court on Thursday, April 11th and fell to Buffalo Gap 6-3.
The Chargers were back at the tennis courts last Monday in Hot Springs and defended their home court by picking up their first win of the season following a 7-2 victory over Bland County.
Bath County dominated in both singles and doubles. In singles the Chargers won four out of the six matchups, while in doubles, it was a clean sweep as BCHS won all three doubles matches.
Brooke Hess and Alyssa DePoppe were the only double team that went undefeated on the day as the duo won in both singles and as a team in doubles. Abbey Phillips and Sophie Ailstock both were unbeaten in the match as well.
