Wesley Lomax “Mac” McClung
Wesley Lomax “Mac” McClung, age 89, of 18681 Botetourt Road, Eagle Rock, Virginia died Sunday, March 24, 2024 at The Woodlands Health and Rehabilitation Center, Clifton Forge.
Mac was born on November 17, 1934 to the late Squire Estle McClung and Marie Wilhelm McClung. He served in the United States Air Force and was a foreman for Westvaco.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Simpson McClung; two sons, Mitchel Todd McClung (who died in January) and Brian Wesley “Snail” McClung; and eight brothers and sisters, Earl McClung, Ernest McClung, Carl McClung, Richard McClung, Virginia Thomas, Christine Lee, Catherine Scott, and Audine Dillon.
He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Shifflett and husband Jerry of Elkton and Jeanne Persinger and husband Larry of Rockwell, NC; three sisters, Armeda Reiley and husband Glenn, Joyce Shell, and Eunice Kern; five grandchildren, Megan, Katie, Christen, Adam, and Jamie; three great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. The family will visit with friends of both Mac and Todd McClung on Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home.
