CLIFTON FORGE — The Clifton Forge Shrine Club announced Thursday that the annual Shriners Fall Foliage Festival has been cancelled.
The festival was scheduled to be held Oct. 16-18 in Clifton Forge.
In a statement released by Shrine Club President Ray Keen and Shrine Club Fall?Festival Chairman Mickey Bowyer, the club made the decision to cancel the event “due to COVID-19 and the current state guidelines that are in effect, the general health and safety of the public, and the uncertainty of what the future might hold.
“There are some things in life that we just can’t control. This year has been an obstacle in many ways, the current Coronavirus pandemic being the major obstacle,” said Keen.
“We would like to thank the town of Clifton Forge, all the vendors, entertainers, and patrons for supporting us and this event over the years,” Keen added, “and we look forward to having a bigger and better event at the 50th Fall Festival next year.”
