Sylvia “Connie” Jenkins Jacobs

February 15, 1924- July 16, 2020
Connie Jacobs passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the age of 96.
Born and raised in Maryville, TN, Connie was the third of three children of Sylvester and Mary Garner Jenkins. She and her husband, Fred, settled in Gastonia, NC to raise their 3 children. They later retired to Monroe, NC to be closer to family.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 68 years, Fred G. Jacobs. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Rose Fehrenbaker and Ruth Hickman, and grandson, Chip Hope.
Connie was a devoted mother of Linda Hope (Chris), Teresa Klemmer (John), and Dan Jacobs (Ann).
She was the loving Grandmother (MomMom) of  Chip Hope(deceased), Carrie Hope Hargett (Jack), Jeff Clemmer (Carey), Jennifer Clemmer Ellis (Mark), Melissa Jacobs Schacher (Steven), and Danny Jacobs.
Connie was the matriarch of 5 generations and adored her 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Connie lived a full life as a loving wife, mother/grandmother and homemaker. She loved cooking and is famous for her banana bread and baklava, among many other favorites. She enjoyed fashion, shopping, and keeping up with the latest styles and decor.  She kept an immaculate house and a yard full of beautiful flowers. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Expressions of sympathy may be sent to John and Teresa Klemmer at 641 Tarrant Street, Longs, SC. 29568.
A private family memorial will be held at Gordon’s Funeral Service. Unfortunately, there will not be a visitation due to the current public health & safety concerns.
