LOW MOOR, Va. (VR) – The Alleghany Highlands YMCA is currently accepting donations for a community yard sale and baked goods silent auction to raise funds for its Early Learning Centers. The yard sale and bake sale will coincide with the YMCA’s annual Welcome Summer Bash on Saturday, June 10.
YMCA staff will accept perishable items such as pastries, plants or a home-cooked dish. These items can be dropped off on June 9 between 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and on June 10 between 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
For nonperishable items, the YMCA will accept antiques, books, lightweight furniture, appliances, toys, baby items, DVDs, CDs, household goods and home decor. No clothing will be accepted.
These items can be dropped off at the YMCA anytime between June 5 and June 9 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
If anyone wants to set up their own yard sale, there will be a $10 fee for non-members and $5 charge for members.
If anyone needs a table, they can reserve one between June 5-June 9. There will be a $5 charge.
“We thank you in advance for supporting our community yard sale,” said Damona Jackson, human resources director for the Alleghany Highlands YMCA and an organizer of the community yard sale. “We’re looking forward to a fun-filled day full of activities for everyone.”
