Mrs. Shirley Bowles Law, 75, of Covington, died peacefully at her home Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021.
Mrs. Law was born Feb. 9, 1945, in Summers County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Noah Bowles and Evelyn Ward Bowles.
She was employed as a clerk by the former Rose’s Department Store for a number of years.
During that time, Shirley and her co-workers became a “big family” whom she continued to love and stay in touch with long after her retirement.
Mrs. Law was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church.
She loved Elvis and truly enjoyed going to the local theater to see Elvis tribute shows.
Shirley also enjoyed going to yard sales where she was always excited when she found a true bargain.
A sweet natured lady, she was known for having a wonderful smile that lit up her entire face.
Mrs. Law is survived by her son, Richard Law and wife Tammy of Covington; a brother, Curtis Bowles of Covington; two nieces; Jenny Taylor and
Shelley Fridley; a nephew, Curtis Bowles Jr.; and a number of cousins.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Law was preceded in death by a brother, Noah Bowles Jr.
A graveside service will be conducted today at 11 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Edith Snedegar officiating.
