The Bath County Chargers (7-9, 3-4) are surging.
Following their Tuesday 64-46 Pioneer District home victory over the Craig County Rockets, the Chargers have now won four of their last five games.
Those four wins coming within a nine-day span. The Chargers had just three wins during the first few months of the season.
A big reason for the teams victory on Tuesday, Andrew Turner.
Turner had game-high 22 points for the Chargers, including scoring eight straight points in the second quarter which helped build a two-point first quarter lead to eight by the end of the first half.
In the fourth quarter the Chargers led by a slim margin, however, the team turned up the volume and built a scoring run of 16 straight points to help put away the Rockets.
While Turner led the team in scoring, Jaden Ryder had a double-double performance with 19 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
The Rockets were led by Matthew Lucas who had a team-high 18 points.
The win on Tuesday split the season series between the two programs. The Rockets were 40-38 home victors on January 4th.
