The Mountain Gateway Roadrunners had a successful evening on Tuesday as the men’s and women’s basketball teams each picked up victories on the road against the Appalachian Bible College Warriors.
The evening kicked off with the Lady Roadrunners (4-8) picking up a big 59-33 victory.
Statistics from the women’s game were unavailable.
After an 0-7 start, the Lady Roadrunners have now won four of its last five games.
In the night cap, the men’s Roadrunners (3-11) team used a big second half to walk away with a 71-61 victory.
The game was tied at halftime 31-31, but the Roadrunners outscored their opponent 40-30 in the second half to pick up their third win of the season
In the win, the Roadrunners were led by three players scoring in double figures, including Tyriq Brown who had a team-high 19 points. DaeDae Bowens added 14 points for the Roadrunners, while Donovan Arnason had 13.
Despite the loss, the Warriors grabbed a big performance from Simon McAllister who finished with a double-double as he had a game-high 25 points to go along with a game-high 13 rebounds. Silas Wertz added 15 points for the Warriors.
Both the men’s and women’s team are home this Saturday as they host Christendom College.
