The Covington Parks and Recreation will host a variety of fall-themed activities Saturday, Oct. 24.
The annual Pumpkins in the Park event, and the Mountain Magic Festival, will take place from 4-8 p.m. at the Jackson River Sport Complex.
The theme is “Fall in our Town.”
Activities will include a Trunk-or-Treat, sponsored by Kars Unlimited, beginning at 4 p.m. Also at 4 p.m., there will be pumpkin decorating.
A pumpkin-carving contest will also be held this year.
Participants may carve their pumpkins at home and then bring them to the event to be judged.
Judging will begin at 4 p.m., and winners will be announced at 5 p.m.
At 5 p.m., a costume contest for ages 2-12 will be held.
Judging will be held in several categories, including most original, spookiest, cutest, and funniest.
Also, the band Sixx Fold will be performing at the River Rock Amphitheatre.
For more information, or to register for the event, call the Covington Parks and Recreation Department at 540-962-6360.
