MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Betty Mae “Beep” Sorrell Mullis, 72, of Mooresville, North Carolina, formerly of  Buchanan, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020.
She was born on October 7, 1948 in Lexington, VA, the daughter of the late Stuart and Dorothy Vassar Sorrell. She was an active  member of Lighthouse Church where she served as an Elder and WOW.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Mullis.
She is survived by her daughters, Ellen Mundy Smith (Terry), Cammie Mundy Martin (John); stepsister, Lucy Mullis Kitner (Oliver); sister, Dorothy S. Middlecamp (Tom); brother, Toby W. Sorrell (Debbie); grandchildren, Lindsey Mundy, Jacob Martin, Jayson Martin; step granddaughter, Sloan Kitner; sister-in-law, Beth Capillary (Tony); brother-in-law, Dr. Tom Mullis (Diane); numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, October 23, 2020 at Lighthouse Church in Mooresville with Rev. Ken Chivers officiating. The family received friends prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 PM at the church.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 25, 2020 at the Union Chapel Cemetery in Hot Springs, VA., with Reverend Beth Painter-Smith officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lighthouse Church, 246 Blume Road, Mooresville, NC 28117.
