CLIFTON FORGE—Appalfolks of America Association has presented Clay S. Morris DS with its “2022 Helping Hands Award” for his ongoing support.
Morris, a former biology teacher at Clifton Forge High School, switched professions by leaving behind his teaching career to become a dentist.
After becoming a dentist, he established his dental practice at 424 Commercial Ave. in Clifton Forge, and he has made charitable donations to Appalfolks of America Association in support of its Special Theatrical Artists Revue & Showcase (STARS) and The Virginia Opry that was designated as the Commonwealth of Virginia’s official Opry on March 31, 2020.
Appalfolks, based in Clifton Forge, owned and operated The Historic Masonic Theatre (operating as the Historic Stonewall Theatre) from 1991 till 2003 when the nonprofit organization donated the theatre to the Town of Clifton Forge.
