The American Red Cross will conduct its blood drive at Good News Church at 331 W. Main Street in Covington on Thurs., Aug. 25, from noon till 5:00 p.m.
Clara Barton founded the American Red Cross on May 21, 1881, and for the past 141 years, the American Red Cross has needed blood for transfusions during wars and natural disasters to save lives.
With recent flooding in Eastern Kentucky that claimed the lives of 37, the American Red Cross has assisted Kentuckians in need, and those who wish to assist in the work being done may call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass to complete health history questions and the pre-donation reading to save time on the day of the appointment.
Incentives for donors include a $10 e-gift card for the donor’s choice of merchants.
Each donor’s name will be automatically entered for a chance to win gas for one year, an estimated value of $6,000.
The Good News Church recently moved from Lexington Ave. to 331 Main Street in Covington, and Pastor Steve Noel is assisting Susie Plasters who is the organizer of the event for The American Red Cross.
