Narrows struck out 18 times and was outhit 10-6 at Casey Field Friday.
They still found a way to knock off previously unbeaten Covington
The Green Wave scored three times in the top of the fifth, edging the Cougars, 5-3, in a big Pioneer District match-up.
Carson Crigger led the Narrows (1-1 Pioneer District, 1-1 overall) offense with two hits and Blake Kirby drove in a pair.
Levi Dressler continued his hot start at the plate with a 3-for-4 day for the Cougars, Skyler Barnett and Sammy Akers both added two hits apiece and Shaun Smith Jr. scored a pair of runs.
Ashton Cook, Akers and Barnett combined to give up only six hits and three earned runs.
Cook struck out 11 in four innings, Akers whiffed two in one inning, while Barnett fanned five in two frames.
Reid Bowman was the winner for the Green Wave and Aiden McGlothlin earned a three-inning save.
Covington (2-1 Pioneer, 3-1 overall) has two home games this week. Eastern Montgomery comes to Casey Field today with Alleghany visiting Wednesday.
